Whether BizTalk 2013/ 2013 R2 supports RFID features or not? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I was going through the documentation available on msdn. I found that the RFID features have been deprecated from BizTalk Server. But when i search for 'Installing BizTalk RFID' and downloaded installation document; it says BizTalk 2013/2013 R2 supports RFID. The link for document can be found at below link,

Or is it something like RFID is supported in BizTalk 2013 and has been deprecated in BT 2013 R2? I am in confusion on this. Could you please help me out on this?

    Thanks.

  • Hi,

RFID Mobile has been removed in BT2013. RFID Server is deprecated, but still available. There is no change between BT2013 and BT2013R2. Note that deprecated does not mean it is gone. It is still supported. Same issue with for instance SOAP adapter. Read more details here.

  • Hello Kjetil,

'RFID Server is deprecated, but still available' means it won't have any further updates. Actually we are trying to install 2013 RFID features on WIN 2016 TP5, but its not getting installed. That's why the confusion.

    Thanks.

    That is correct.

Are you setting up a new environment based on BT2013 (R2) now? If so, consider waiting for BT2016, which will probably be released this month. Anyways, Windows Server 2016 is not supported for BT2013, try again using Windows Server 2012 (R2).
