Create an event when Agent is in "Not Monitored" state RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

Is there a simple way to create a monitor, that creates an Alert, when an agent-state changes to "Not Monitored"? I can't find an "out of the box" solution for this. Or is there a monitor, that i can activate?

    Kind Regards

Answers

  • Hi,

There are a few ways of achieving this, below are two (2) example ways of doing this:

    SCOM

Create a rule that checks for grayed out / not monitored agents.

You can have a look at the following blog post to that does something very similar:

    Orchestrator / PowerShell

Run a PowerShell script to check if any agents with the status "uninitialized" (this is the "Not monitored" status in PowerShell) exist.

    For example:

    #Get all agents
    $Agents = Get-SCOMAgent

    #Uninitialized agents
    $Uninitialized = $Agents | where {$_.HealthState -eq "Uninitialized"} | Select Name, HealthState

    Best regards,
    Leon
