Non existent process RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

When TCPView is ran on a Windows 2012 R2 Domain Controller the results shows:

    Process : Non-Existent

    Protocol : UDP

    PID : displays PID

    Local Port : ranges 50,000 - 60,000

The Port number changes when the server is rebooted. Any input on how to find the process that is associated to the port will be helpful. Thank you.

  • Well, if you already have the PID just fire up Process Explorer and search for that PID

Netstat -ano does the same thing and in the last column you have the PID of the process.. with that you can use Process Explorer and get the Process behind that PID..

  • Hi Rajidass.

You should download and execute Process Explorer and Process Monitor and search for that PID in the list of processes.

    Bye.
