Can I add winproj.exe to my C# Solution RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

I am building an application and I wanted to be able to use project professional but not require that the end user using the app have it installed on their machine.  I've searched online and can't find anything on how to incorporate the actual application into my solution so I can launch it programmatically.  Does anyone know if this is possible and if so do you have any instructions on how to do it?  I've currently added in winproj.exe, the manifest file and the xml and also of course the reference to Microsoft.Office.InterOp.MSProject.  Opening projects works fine when I direct it to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\root\Office16\winproj.exe and that is may just be my solution (require any end user to have project professional installed on their machine).

    Any advice would be appreciated

    Thanks

    Don Landry

That's not possible, cause the user must have the correct license for MS Project. Furthermore, such a distribution of a copyright protected piece of software is in many countries at least a copyright infringement.
