Using Remote Assistance in Windows 8 RRS feed

  • Question

  • In my lab environment I have two Windows 8 RP VMs running.  One of them is x86 and the other is x64 and I am trying to work with remote assistance between them.  When searching for Remote Assistance on the x64 machine's start screen, it is available and I am able to select to initiate a connection or help others.  On the x86 machine, Remote Assistance is not an option.

It is not listed as an installable feature either.  Does anyone have any idea why the x86 version seems to be missing Remote Assistance?

    thanks

  • Here is the result of searching "remote desktop" on Windows 8 RP x86. Is it same as yours?

  • When you go to 'Search' by default it will search 'Apps'. On the right below 'Apps' choose 'Settings' then do your search. That should work fine.
