Upgrading 8.1 ES-ES to W10 EN-US RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

Currently we have near to 500 computers with windows 8.1 x64 ES-ES operating system. Now, we are deploying new W10 1803/1809, and want to update all 8.1 to 10 withouth RIS/PXE. To do, use SCCM and the below images:

    --8.1: SW_DVD9_SA_Win_Ent_8.1_64BIT_Spanish_-2_MLF_X19-50458

    --10:SW_DVD9_Win_Pro_Ent_Edu_N_10_1803_64BIT_English_-4_MLF_X21-87129

    We use this manual: https://www.systemcenterdudes.com/sccm-windows-10-1803-upgrade/

But when try to install recieve this error: "task sequence Error: 0x4005(16389)"

There're some way to update this machines with another lenguage image?

    Regards,

    Gerardo,

  • To my knowledge, this is not directly supported; however, this really has nothing to do with ConfigMgr and you'll get a much better, more definitive answer in a Windows 10 forum as this is directly related to Windows itself and not the delivery mechanism.

Also note however that ConfigMgr 2012 (this is a 2012 forum so assuming that's what you are running) does not support Windows 10 so you need to upgrade your hierarchy first to support Windows 10 first.

  • And one last note is that ConfigMgr 1802 is almost at it's end of life so you really need to upgrade it ASAP.
