Azure AD Directory Sync with Third-Party Web App (No Windows Server) RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a client who uses Azure AD for its employee directory. They've been successful in tying it to a number of cloud services for single sign-on - and I'm attempting to see if it's possible for me to deliver the same type of experience with a new phone system being installed (FreePBX).

There is quite a bit of documentation from the FreePBX side regarding tapping an existing AD for both user management and authentication. That said, both are slanted towards the traditional model where the AD domain controller is running in Windows 10, etc...

Alternatively, I can also tie into OpenLDAP - but wanted to see if there was anyone who'd be able to recommend a way I could hook into AD directly versus introducing yet another component to the chain.

    Thanks! :)

  • I can't speak specifically to these applications, but I can tell you that AD is fully LDAP compliant, and will answer LDAP queries.
