SCCM USMT Task Sequence RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello

We are preparing to migrate from Windows 7 to Windows 10. there is a problem with remote office migration(no distribution point). The idea came to prepare a disk of USB on Board having a loaded sequence of tasks and enough space to store user files. Now I'm testing in a virtual environment. here's part of the task sequence:

    1)mkdir %SYSTEMDRIVE%\script -Run Command Line

    2)copy /y "\\sccmserver\C$\temp\ScanUSMT\SCANSTATE v1.bat" %SYSTEMDRIVE%\script\SCANSTATE.bat -Run Command Line

    3)%SYSTEMDRIVE%\script\SCANSTATE.bat -Run Command Line

    SCANSTATE.bat

    setLocal Enabledelayedexpansion
    for %%d in (c d e f g h i j k l m n o p q r s t u v w x y z) do (
      if exist %%d:\"User State Migration Tool"\ (
    xcopy %%d:"\User State Migration Tool\*.*" /e /v /y C:\USMT\
If not exist %%d:\Store Mkdir %%d:\Store
        c:
        cd C:\USMT\Amd64
        scanstate.exe %%d:\Store\%ComputerName% /c /o /ue:%OSDCOMPUTERNAME%\* /hardlink /nocompress /i:MigApp.xml /i:MigCustom.xml /i:MigUser.xml /i:MigProgFiles.xml /v:5 /l:%%d:\Store\%ComputerName%\logs\scanstate.log /progress:%%d:\Store\%ComputerName%\logs\scanstate_progress.log
    ))

Hands folder is created and the bat file is copied. But through the task sequence error

    1) Failed to execute command line 'mkdir C:\script' .
The system cannot find the file specified. (Error: 80070002; Source: Windows)

    3) Error USMT

  • Without seeing the unedited smsts.log, deciphering what you have above is difficult at best as troubleshooting from paraphrased and interpreted log output is nearly impossible.

Although note of course that mkdir isn't an .exe but is instead a command-shell command and thus must be run from the command-shell: cmd.exe /c mkdir %SYSTEMDRIVE%\script

The USMT error log above is pretty clear though:

"Failed to select store. Path: f:\Store\ABB-WIN7"

    and

"The store save location is read-only or does not support a requested storage option"
