Unable to Complete DirSync V2 Configuration - Credentials are Not Seen as an Active Directory Enterprise Administrator RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Hi all, over the past few weeks some administrators have reported not being able to complete their Directory Synchronization V2 configuration, throwing an error that the Enterprise Administrator credentials are NOT Enterprise Admin, in effect not determining that the credentials being passed as not an Enterprise Admin.  As a result, the configuration cannot complete, as the Directory Synchronization service account (MSOL_AD_Sync) is not being created in the Root Domain of an Active Directory Forest.

As a result the Online Services team has replaced the Directory Synchronization download links with a version that will work and anyone using Directory Synchronization against a 2003 Domain Controller should re-download the Directory Synchronization installation bits in order to complete the configuration process.

Microsoft is looking into this issue and once resolved an updated set of Directory Synchronization installation bits will be available for download.

Note - The current Directory Synchronization download installation bits will provide you with the same features, functions and capabilities you are used to and will allow you to install and configure against a 2003 Domain Controller.
