Deploying Licensensed Software Using SCCM RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

    We have purchased few new Toad License and we will have to deploy these to few users.

    I have the MSI package for the toad and is ready for deployment, but i also want to include the key with the package so that we don't have to share the Keys with the users.

    Can any one help.

    the Quest team asked to create a registry file and deploy it, but the registry key is not activating the software:

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\{08439167-4CA5-48E9-A810-A3A7C0B80B06}]

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\{08439167-4CA5-48E9-A810-A3A7C0B80B06}\Local]

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\{08439167-4CA5-48E9-A810-A3A7C0B80B06}\Local\KEY]
    "SiteMessage"=""
    "ProductName"=""
    "ProductVersion"=""

    Kindly help

    Regards, Prasad

  • Are you using a deployment set to run as the currently logged in user or the local system?

    The above values are per-user values so if you deploy them to the local System account, they won't affect any users.

  • That won't work for exactly the reason noted then. It's important to know and account for the differences between per-user and per-system configurations.
