Cannot add package to AppV Client. File system is not NTFS (AppV 5 SP1)

    Frage

  • Hello,

I have PC with Windows 7 SP1, all up to date. I have a sequenced package which I deploy directly from the client by running the MSI and it works fine on other computers (windows 7 or 8, also in virtual machine, etc).

When trying to add the package on this machine I get the following error:

Failed to publish the package due to the following error: Application Virtualization Service failed to complete requested operation. Operation attepted: Configure AppV Package. AppV Error Code: 0C801F000F
Error module: Streaming Manager. Internal error detail: 4C401C0C801F000F. Please consult AppV Client Event Log for more details.

After I click ok this message appears:

Failed to remove the package due to the following error: Unrecognized Guid format.

Going into the event log, I find the following events:

    1.Package {c9806652-cebc-4dfe-a32a-f2319fe626dd} version {fb01d12f-3d8a-45e2-b5a7-a8929f35907a} failed configuration in folder 'C:\APPV\C9806652-CEBC-4DFE-A32A-F2319FE626DD\FB01D12F-3D8A-45E2-B5A7-A8929F35907A' with error 0x4C401C0C-0x801F000F.

2.The package {c9806652-cebc-4dfe-a32a-f2319fe626dd} version {fb01d12f-3d8a-45e2-b5a7-a8929f35907a} could not be configured because the package store location is not on a valid NTFS file system.  Ensure that the package store location is a valid NTFS file system and try again.

This errors appear even if I try to add the package from powershell, even if I configure the client to get the package from a publishing server, I get the same result.

I have tried to change the package store location (as you can see from the logs), to reinstall the client, to install the client without SP1, NTFS short name is enabled.... no luck.

    Any ideas ?

    Thank you for your help.

  • I have found the solution!

Kaspersky Endpoint Security 10 was the culprit.
After reinstalling and leaving only the file antivirus it works as expected.

  • It is NTFS (the C:\ drive is also the windows installation drive, so you also cannot use any other file system)

  • Hello,

Have you performed something else, such as create a link of any kind or redirect any folder for the user account that is used?

  • Not that I am aware of... maybe if other applications did. I am going to try and move the store to the D:\ drive to test further.

    Nope, still no luck...
