MS Project 2010: How to influence cost column with filter on other columns? RRS feed

  • Frage

  • Dear all,

I try to filter my task table on a customer column. That works fine, but there is no affect on the cost and work column sum on the whole project. What I want to do is to assign each task to a category (customer column) and then filter on this column to which affect on the project costs happens without  categories.

    Thanks for help!

  • Hi Gerrit,

out of the box it is not possible to calculate the cost column in dependency of a custom filter. In addition to the filter you have to create a custom task cost column with a formula. As formula you take the function IIF(....) in which you define when the costs should be calculated.

In a similar German Project post I have demonstrated this scenario with screenshots:

I hope, this will answer your question.
