SQL Backend Encrypted Connection RRS feed

  • Frage

  • All,

by default, a Lync Server Enterprise Pool uses TCP port 1433 for connections to the SQL backend (in this case a cluster).

Is this connection between Lync and SQL encrypted? If not, is it possible to implement encryption for this and how?

    Many thanks and best regards,

  • It is a normal SQL-Connection and not encryped by default.

Normally the Frontend Servers are talking to the backend SQL and this is in the same network and datacenter.

So no external links and most companies are handling "intrasite traffic" as secure.

But you can use Windwos IPSEC to encrypt and sign traffic.
