"Oops something wrent wrong" after migration to Exchange Online in hybrid environment RRS feed

  • A few of the shortly migrated users get a screen with the message "Ooops, something went wrong" and something along the lines that no mailbox could be found or that there was no license assigned, when logging on to the on-premise OWA website.

    In addition to the error in OWA, the event log on on of the Exchange servers log the following event:

    EventID: 146

    Outlook Web App failed to create ExchangePrincipal for S-1-5-**************************************3. IsMonitoringRequest: False. Error: Microsoft.Exchange.Clients.Owa2.Server.Core.OwaUserHasNoMailboxAndNoLicenseAssignedException: The user does not have an Exchange mailbox.
       at Microsoft.Exchange.Clients.Owa2.Server.Core.OwaClientSecurityContextIdentity.InternalCreateExchangePrincipal()

    The user can login to O365 OWA when directly browsing to the website, Outlook 2016 and the Outlook-App on his phone are working.

    Most of the other users simply get a link to the Exchange Online OWA website displayed.

    Is there way to further investigate this error or a way to fix this?
