Can I safely use DcGPOFix /ignoreschema on a Server 2008 R2 DC in a Forest with Schema Version 56 (2012) RRS feed

  • Frage

  • Hi all,

I want to know if I can safely run DcGPOFix on my Server 2008 R2 DC in a "Schema Version 56" Forest.

Running DcGPOFix /target:DC bings me this error message:

"Active Directory schema version for this domain, and the version supported by this tool do not match" this is a known Error for previous mixtures of DcGPOFix versions and schema versions (example1, example2).

I haven't found a kb regarding my issue. Therefore my question, can I safely run this command:

    DcGPOFix /ignoreschema /target:DC

    - I do not have a Server 2012 DC

    ---
    cheers,
    Eric

No. Never on any Version of the tool, because it will remove all the manuelly configured entries from a lot of software installations, like:
Exchange, SQL etc. that need special user rights assignment.

Dispite of this it is SAVE! :-)
