Cannot open RMS protected document from external RRS feed

  • Frage

  • Hi,

I have deployed a RMS Cluster with one Node and Exchange 2010 integration. So far everything worked fine while on the internal network.

Now i configured the external URL and published the RMS Server through TMG, however i'am not able to open a RMS protected Word Document while the client is on the internet.

When i try to open the document, a message appears that tells me that Office needs to connect to the RMS Server. (the URL shown is correct) After that i enter my credentials and the following message appears:

"You do not have credentials that allow you to open this document. You can request updated permissions from..."

If i switch the client to the internal network and try it again it works.

Unfortunately i can't find an error. The firewall isn't blocking anything, the RMS troubleshooting report tells me that there are no errors, i even get a successfull logon event in the Security Log of the RMS server when my external client tries to open the document.

It seems that the whole connection and authentication stuff is working fine however i cant open that word document.

    Any help appreciated :-)

    Thanks!

    Cheers, christoph

analysiere bitte einmal die TMG Live-Protokollierung und überzeuge Dich (und
uns), ob wirklich alles durch die Firewall kommt.

Speziell TMG 2010 ist sehr mächtig, was es alles analysieren kann - s.a.:

A note about ISA publishing rules and RMS. Link Translation is a kick to the
