How to publish a part of my project for a customer?

I have a large MS Project 2010 project with many tasks and cost inside. Not all information is "good" for the customer, but the customer has task in the project, too. Therefor I want to export only the customer parts in a small project file.

I try to export my project with a filter on the customer parts to excel. But when I import the Excel - File MS Project 2010 crashes. The same happens with a csv - file.

What can I do?
