Permit user to change TCP/IP settings only on one network interface RRS feed

  • Frage

  • Hello !

I have a big issue concerning user permissions on network interface cards.

I know if I add the user to the "Network Operators" group I allow the user to change all settings, but the user should only be able to change the settings of one specific NIC.

I tried changing permissions in the Registry, but to refresh the settings I have to reboot the computer and that is also not wished.

So if there is someone who can help me with this

    THANK YOU !

Every NIC is integrated with a dynamic GUID, which is generic on very single Computer.
You can set permissions on it (GPO -> Security -> Registry), but only if you know th GUID.

At least you need to script it, with a lot of effort.
    - get GUID of desired LAN Connection
    - set permission on it
