Bluescreen 0x7E on Hyper-V Host with Bitlocker RRS feed

  • Frage

  • i have problems to Backup my Standalone Hyper-V Host with Altaro Hyper-V Backup
On the Hyper-V Host i have the feature "Bitlocker" enabled. just the feature enabled, there are no encrypted Devices/Drives.

    a few minutes after i start a Backup-Job a Bluescreen on the Hyper-V Host  "STOP 0x0000007E" - "SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED" appears.

when the bitlocker-feature is removed the BSOD is gone and hyper-v backup works as expected.

i have also contacted altaro and send them the Minidump crashdump files, but i think this is a windows-based issue, because altaro's backup is using VSS Providers to make backups.

The Host is a Windows Server 2008R2 SP1 (full, no core) on Intel S5520HC, 32GB RAM, 6 x SAS HDD on Adaptec 6805 Controller

The Backup-Target is a QNAP-NAS, connected via MPIO via iSCSI, JumboFrames enabled, via separate networks.

i found a kb articel which addresses the issue with Bitlocker and Bluescreen 0X7E under Windows Vista, but not for Windows Server 2008R2 SP1 (<cite>KB930979)</cite>

    Any ideas ?
