Does GPPs created with admx templates affect GPPs created with adm templates RRS feed

    Actual situation:
    - Windows Server 2008 R2
    - Windows XP client with Outlook 2007 / Outlook 2010

    I have to set two registry keys to forbid usage of pst files and grow of pst files in Outllook 2007 and 2010. Therefore I have to use an ADMX templates to create a GPP because without that, the registry keys are not set on Windows XP Clients.

    For prior Outlook settings via GPPs ADM templates are used.

    Is there a conflict with settings set used the ADM templates, when I now use an ADMX template to set the new registry keys?

    The  keys set used by ADMX templates are not used before.

    Ich antworte mal auf deutsch. Ob admx oder adm ist im Endeffekt egal, da das nur die Schablone ist, um die Policy zu bearbeiten. Du könntest genauso gut den Registrywert auch einfach per GPP verteilen. Oben verwendest du übrigens regelmässig den Begriff GPP, was mit ADMX oder adm genau nichts zu tun hat.

    du hast vollkommen recht. Ich hätte auf Deutsch schreiben sollen, dann wäre die Frage klarer geworden.

    Ich wollte eigentlich wissen, ob es Auswirkungen gibt, wenn statt eines ADM-Templates ein ADMX-Template verwendet wird um ein GPO zu erstellen.

    Der Unterschied zwischen GPO und GPP ist jetzt auch klar.

    Ja, bei Verwendung eines admx Templates hat das keine Auswirkungen auf die Sysvol-Größe. Technische Auswirkung bei GPO Konfiguration ist aber identisch bei den beiden.
