HIGH CPU USAGE RRS feed

  • Question

  • Windows modules installer worker is clocking up about 50% of my cpu usage and 99% of disk usage. highly unlikely it is a hardware issue because it is a 3 month old home made computer with high range RAM, Motherboard, harddrive etc. windows 8 updater is also unable to install the latest updates and im very unsure of why. has been a week of me tinkering and unable to find solution, any help would be greatly appreciated. if anyone has any questions please ask.

  • Hi,

Have you tried that solution Acreed02 referenced?

Just end the high usage process and like ZigZag instruction, run Windows Performance toolkit to trace the log for analysis.

Alternative, Perform a Clean boot to see if CPU usage is normal.
