Is there a fast way to enter IAFs? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have around 50 new advanced IAFs to add to each of three management agents. There's 5 attributes on each on the datasource side so it's taking a really long time to input. Had a look at the lithnetmiisautomation module but it doesn't have anything for this. I also tried exporting an MA to see if I could alter the xml manually but it looks a bit too complex to do that. Any ideas on how to get these flows in a bit quicker than manually clicking each one?

  • Hi,

sadly you cannot do that as there is no (known) API to add attribute flows programatically to MIM MA configuration.

This is still a task that need to be done manually by hand.

  • It is not great but some people have made calls to the MIM Service (SOAP) to update the mvdata or madata objects and that is supposed to change the config in the sync engine. But that also involves changing the XML because that is what is stored there.

  • After all that years I still learn new things around FIM/MIM, never saw this before.

I assume that this is an not offical supported way, right ?

    thanks David

  • Well, the PG built it that way intending to allow for that. Certainly they built it for SharePoint, and the DirSync config wizard and anything other Microsoft appliance that was going to use the "Sync Bus." But I don't know that they intended to publish it for everyone to use.
