cannot find downloaded files, on desktop RRS feed

    When I download something to my desktop, the files don't show up.  It looks like the downloads are completing successfully, but when I look on the desktop the files are not there.  I've disabled my anti virus software already... I'm stumped on this one.     Any suggested fixes are appreciated
