Window 7 Desktop installation error RRS feed

  • Question

  • Client just purchased a new Windows 7 32 bit workstation. Trying to install ProClarity Desktop Pro ver 6.3 from the main Setup.exe, the setup didn't even run. Going from Setup.exe on a subfolder, he gets the message that says it needs Win Installer 31. ver 2 and XML 6.0, then goes into that reboot loop. The installation files are on the server, in a shared folder. That is how he is upgrading the other (XP) workstations.
Are there other tricks needed for Windows 7?

  • Hi Lori,

This sounds like the issue with syncing with the Windows installer.  What you'll want to do for this is try following the steps in this KB article and see if the software installs correctly:  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/934072
