Changing IP address and domain name

    Question

  • Hello,

    Hope someone can help me. Firstly I'm new to Windows.

    I have a Windows 2008 R2 AD and on the same server I installed Exchange 2010. Also DNS hosted by the same server. This is a lab setup.

    What I need to do is either to change the IP address or both the IP address and the domain name.

    Is this possible? If possible what steps I should follow?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Open the Internet Information Services manager. There will be a panel on the left. Here, click on "Sites". Now you can manage IP and domain name. However, domain names need to be registered with a DNS server. I don't know how to make one of these, sorry. However, I know it is possible on Windows Server.

    It is not my fault if your computer combusts. If this helped, press the /\ arrow over ↖there. If it answers the question, click Propose as Answer ↓there. If you asked the question in the first place, click Mark as answer ↓below.

  • Hi

     Domain rename operation is not supported in Microsoft exchnage 2007&2010.

    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc816848(v=ws.10).aspx

    Also you could change ip adrress of the DC;

    Check this article for steps;

    Note:Whatever it is lab environment,install exchnage on a Domain COntroller is not right configuration,you should install Exchange another member server.
