Windows + Display Port Failure RRS feed

  • Question

  • I've recently bought an SSD and installed Windows7 + transferred files over.  Before I had done this though, my ASUS PA246 24.1" monitor (the only monitor I have connected) was plugged into the same display port (video card = ASUS GTX570 Direct CUII) it is in now, but without problem. Now, though, when ever the monitor is turned off, Windows thinks has been disconnected and shrinks the resolution resulting in icons on the desktop being rearranged (every time in the same order). I have searched the interwebs, but to no real answer other than people saying "tough luck, it's windows failure, live with it" ect. So here I am, is there a solution within windows, even if it means editing the registry, or should I just copy paste this to ASUS or..?

Any help would be appreciated and sorry for my pitiful paragraph structure and grammar.........

  • Hi,

First, please test the issue in Safe Mode and the
      Clean Boot mode.

Also try to reinstall the video card driver to check the result.
