Group Policy Migration to new Domain RRS feed

  • Question

  • We are attempting to create a standard set of policies and export them from our LAB to various production domains. These domains have different names of course, etc. Does anyone now of any good tools to do these. Being able to export and import in bulk rather than one GPO at a time?

  • Hi,

    Ok. Do the following steps to get this working:

    1. Install Group Policy Management Console Sample Scripts

    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=14536

    2. Create the folder reports in c:\

    3. open cmd

    type in ->

    cd C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Group Policy\GPMC Sample Scripts

    and press enter to browse to the script folder.

    type in ->

    cscript GetReportsForAllGPOs.wsf c:\reports /Domain:yourdomain.com

    and press enter to export all GPOs to c:\reports.

    o

    To backup/export all GPO in current domain use:

    Backup-GPO -All -Path C:\GPOBackups

    you can follow the links for one by one import export:

  • Mark,

    The issue is not getting them backed up. The issue is getting them imported into the other domains with different names from the original.
