Locate all clients that have 32bit CPU whit Microsoft Assessment and Planning Toolkit RRS feed

  • Hi,

    We have about 1000 computers in our network. We will uppgrade to windows 7 64bit. Im trying to locate the clients that have a cpu 32 bit cpu so i can find out how many computers we have to replace! is this posible whit Microsoft Assessment and Planning Toolkit?

  • The answer to your question is both yes and no. Since Windows XP is not a 64-Bit aware OS, it does not know if the processor is actually 64-bit. As a result, MAP will report a 64-bit CPU as a 32-bit CPU because that is what XP said it was.  This is not an issue with Vista or newer operating systems.
