Is there a way to have Wireless Zero Configuration as the defauly Wireless connectivity method? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is there a way to have Wireless Zero Configuration as the default Wireless connectivity method?

We have a number of laptops (>20) that have Intel ProSet Wireless Cards in them.

However they have a nasty habit of dropping the signal and then connecting back moments later.

If I don;t use the Intel software to manage the wireless connections and instead use the Windows Wireless Zero Configuration to connect we have no problems at all! The primary issue is that if I change the setting when logged in as admin that's great, but it appears to be profile specific. As a default a new user on the machine would get the intel configuration. Considering the fact that this is a school environment many people log into these machines and we will be forever changing the set up for them.

Is there a way to have the Wireless Zero Configuration loaded as the default instead of the Intel?

    Any suggestions would be welcome!

  • I can't tell you exactly where to make the change, but you should be able to turn off the Intel wireless software and turn on Windows Zero Configuration.
