GPO for configuring 802.1x wired clients with XP SP3 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,
We use actually cisco switchs with ACS like radius server mapped on windows 2003 R2 Active directory server. We use user authentication PEAP-CHAP-V2.
I extend the schema as described in microsoft documentation http://technet.microsoft.com/fr-fr/library/bb967647.aspx to use the computer authentication first.
Now, when i try to modify an GPO, Computer Configuration | Windows Settings | Security Settings | Wired Network (IEEE 802.3) Policies node in the Group Policy Management Editor, this node isn't exist.

    Thank you for your help

  • Odd, there is no English version of the documentation you reference: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb967647.aspx

You might want to try asking in the Group Policy forum: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/winserverGP/threads

  • We don't have neither windows Vista nor the windows 2008. We use client with windows xp sp3 and windows 2003 R2 as server active directory. I applied all the orientations of some documentation of Microsoft and others. I did :
1- Extend the schema of active directory to include the newer GPO of windows 2008 in windows 2003.
2- When i try to inialize an GPO to configure the clients with XP sp3, the branche Computer Configuration | Windows Settings | Security Settings | Wired Network (IEEE 802.3) Policies node in the Group Policy Management Editor doesn't appear.

My problem, for the moment, is to display this node and complete the operation with elaboration of GPO.

    Thanks.

  • Hi,

Please try to install a Vista or Windows Server 2008 to manage the new Policy, a trial version is enough.

    Thanks.
