What are the right KB # for June CU ? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I would like to install the June CU on my Project Server 2007 + SP2 + Dec CU.

But I'm quite lost when I'm trying to download the June CUs.

In a first attemp in July, I got the following numbers

    Project Professional : KB 2028571

    Project Server : KB 983312

    WSS 3.0 : KB 983311

In a second attempt today, I got :

    Project Professional : KB 971501

    Project Server : KB 971502

    WSS 3.0 : KB 970946

    What are the right ones?

  • Hi,

the first link Andrew gave you, was the correct one:

You wrote that there were too many links, so I try to help (you have already applied SP2, haven't you?). If applied, he important part on this page starts in the middele with "The Server CU is released in two different versions.  The first version is in Individual Packages specific to a particular product like WSS and Project Server....."

    Server Rollup Packages:

    • Description of the Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 Cumulative Update Server Hotfix Package (WSS server-package): June 29, 2010  - This is the first one to install (WSS 3.0)
    • Description of the Office SharePoint Server 2007 Cumulative Update server hotfix package (MOSS server-package): June 29, 2010  - If you are running Project Server on Sharepoint Server, you will be fine with this one (it does include KB983312). If you have only Project Server, you can ignore.

    Individual Product Packages:

    So you need the following:

    • KB983311 - WSS 3.0
    • KB983310 - if running Project Server on Sharepoint Server or KB983312 if running Project Server on WSS
    • KB2028571 - on all clients

    Hope that helps?

  • Hi,

in fact Andrew gave you the good answer!!!

The CU articles are always the same, every 2 months. The first part explains, that you should SP1 and/or SP2 and how to do. The second describes the packages. There are always rollup and individual packages ... If you got it now, you will not have any issue in August (by the way: you can subscribe to that site with RSS).

    What are cuneiform characters?
