error in updating windows vista RRS feed

  • i have been trying to update my windows vista home premium but it always gives me an error.
    the error code is 80244021. can any one help me with such problem?

    Run services.msc command and stop windows update service. Rename %windir%\softwaredistribution and start Windows update service. Then, try to see if the problem reoccurs.

    I'm at college and im not a wiz tech at computers, it would be helpful if you can repeat these instructions in more simpler terms and more clearly. I understand i have to open command prompt... then what? whats with the percentage signs... please do help!
