Passing arguments to an IMS flow RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

    Consider the following scenario:

    * We have an IMS flow that performs queries/returns resulrs via OpenSearch;

    * We need to be able to define UrlTemplate property of 'OpenSearchLookup' operator and Field Name Mapping in 'OpenSearchtoIMSResultsAdapter' dynamically, since the user may choose to search within an arbitrary OpenSearch-based search provider;

    Naturally, we need some way to pass arguments into the IMS flow, when calling it via the IMS WCF service. FSIS documentation says that:

    - "Flow properties may be either passed as arguments explicitly by the user starting the flow or implicitly when using the FlowRunner operator. Referencing flow properties from operator configuration properties is limited to string properties only."

    But it does not state explicitly, how to pass the arguments! What I tried is:

    1. Passing the arguments via the 'AdditionalProperties' section of the ContextObject (doesn't work);

    2. Calling an IMS flow with a 'FlowRunner', passing in the argument values. (the hosting IMS flow hangs until the timeout occurs).

    Could someone please explain how to do this?
