Getting a pop-up with Save & Cancel options while opening DocX files in Win 7 RRS feed

    Hi,

    When i try to open a .docx file from IE 9 am getting a pop-up with Open / Save / Cancel buttons. But when i click on the Open button its throwing another pop-up window with Save / Cancel options.

    I need to open the file in Word 2010 which is not happening. I have to save the file to my desktop and then only i can open it.

    Tested with Google chrome and Mozilla and they look good.

    Any help on this...appreciated.

    Hi Chiratla,

    Please try one or more of the following methods:

    • Try to reset IE settings and check this issue again;
    • Try to repair your Office and check this issue again;.

    Hi Max,

    I tried this option. But did not work out. When i inspected the Docx files, they are having some images getting embedded dynamically inside. When i remove those images...its opening fine.

    But even with the images in place, Google Chrome & Firefox are working fine. Only with IE..am seeing this issue.

    But if i use office 2007 with IE -- Works fine

    Office 2010 & Any version of IE -- DocX file is not getting opened.
