    Steps to Sequence the Application:

    1.      Initial Setup steps prior to sequencing (we are assuming you are running Windows Vista).

    ·         Make sure that UAC is turned on.

    ·         Turn off Windows Update; exit Windows Defender; disable Indexing (WSearch.exe)

    ·         Disable your antivirus unless absolutely necessary.

    ·         The user that is logged on to the machine should be a member of the Administrators Group.  However we recommend that this user NOT be the “Administrator”

    2.      Launch Sequencer

    3.      Create New package (Fileà New Package…)

è Configuration Wizard: Enter all key information such as Package name (“SnagIt823_WinVista_450.<>”),

o   Title: Snag It for Windows

o   Description: Snag It for Windows

    o   Protocol: RTSP

o   Select Operating Systems (OS): Windows Vista

    o   Generate MSI: Check

è Installation Wizard: Select Key options such as :

    o   Compression: (none)

    o   Block size: (32K)

o   Microsoft Update (MUA):  Leave unchecked.

    4.      Begin Monitoring

As you begin monitoring, you will be prompted to provide the location where you plan to install your application.  Create a folder on q:\snagit82.vis.

Action 1 – Run your application installer… (If this is a TS box, use Add-Remove to install app)

Action 2 – Make sure you are installing to the folder on Q: you specified earlier: Q:\snagit82.vis.  Also make sure that all Options are fully installed and are not setup to install on first use.

    Close Installer (Complete installation)

è Reboot Request -- If your application installer requires a reboot, please allow it.  Snag It does not ask for a reboot typically.

è Launch Snag It (there should be an icon on your desktop, if not  you should be able to access your installed apps via the install folder ‘q:\snagit82.vis’.

    5.      Stop Monitoring

    6.      Proceed to the [Application Wizard] Launch Phase

    7.      During the Launch phase, Execute/launch  Snag It, use it then Close it

    8.      Save your package

  • Hi,

    I have sequenced Snagit successfully.

I was getting the same old error again but it has been resolved by adding the Environment variable in the OSD i.e "RunAsInvoker" shim has been applied to solve the problem.
