DPM SQL recovery RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

I have a DPM 2010 server which is protecting an SQL server. I have configured both database level backup and I am also backing up the .bak file generated by SQL on a daily basis. I just wanted to know how could I recover the SQL server in case of crash. Will I have to reinstall OS since BMR is not available for Win 2003? And after that, I suppose I'll have to install SQL also, restore the backed up files and import to database?

Please let me know if there is any other way possible.

    Regards

    Pavit

  • Hi Pavit,

Yes you are correct. You would need to restore the OS, install SQL Instance and then restore your databases.
