Admin denied access from GPO

  • A colleague and myself have been given the duties of managing the sever. While I was on vacation he modified the group policies and now havoc has been unleashed. All computers have denied access; some machines just show a blue screen with just the mouse pointer. There is an authorization error that occurs when trying to even do a Ctrl+Alt+Del. I have spent the past day and a half researching ideas. It seems there are options to recover this, but I would like to reach out for some guidance from someone with more experience in this field. I don’t want to dig myself any deeper in this dreaded hole. Please advise this is holding up production.

  • Hello ben.m.s,

Have you tried to disable the links or the whole GPOs that you co-worker changed?

Could you describe on which policies were the changes made?

I would appreciate it if you post the authorization error.

    Thank you,
