Skype for business client and Skype for Business Web App RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have a Lync 2013 environment, users all have the SfB 2015 client, and we have restricted it to internal users and one federated partner.  We have a user who needs to attend a one-off meeting with a different company, whose solution for external users is the SfB Web App.

Is it possible for a user with the SfB client to install the SfB web app?  And could they force a meeting to use the web app instead of the full client?  Federating with this other company for one meeting is not going to happen.

    Thanks!

  • Hi,

Since you have set up the restricted federation feature for your external access policy, then the target domain users that you blocked will have no permission to attending the Skype meeting organized by your users.

If your user wants to participate the meeting that organized by the other company, you could join by Skype Web App attending the meeting as the anonymous guest as you mentioned.

But what needs to be taken into account is that the target company have set up the “Enable anonymous user access to conferences” for the Access Edge configuration like below.
