Cannot upload to SharePoint slide library RRS feed

  • Question

  • The message shows that basic authentication cannot be used to upload files. Is SSL the only way to go and how to enable SSL on an existing web app?

  • Hi,

Since basic authentication isn’t secure, which doesn’t encrypt user name and password during the session. I suggest that you enable SSL for your web site. You can either configure the web application to use SSL whenever you create new web application or extend the web application.

Or you can just add an AAM record for the existing web application, then create and install a certificate, next bind the certificate to your site, finally, you can access your SharePoint site via SSL.

    For the detailed information, see
