Unable to install Service Packs RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello

I had to do a new install of XP Home (32 bit) today, and since this was an old computer, the recovery CD did not have any of the SP installed.  So I had a network install copy of SP3, and it tells me that I need SP2 for this...

So I tried downloading the latest updates through Windows Updates, and tried downloading SP2 through the process, but it just hangs, nothing downloads..  I've waited about 30 minutes for it to do something, but nothing.

So I download the Network install of SP2 and it then says you need SP1 to install it.

So I've tried looking for a network install of SP1, but have not been able to find one.  Is there a way around this?

    Thank you.
