Log off user after 2-3 days of inactivity. But leave all other users under 2 days untouched. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Just want to start off by saying I'm a noob so bear with me.

Background: We have multiple fire stations running Vista Business where there could be 20 users logged onto the PC at any given time, thanks to "fast user switching" We encourage fast user switching its just, the users never log off and after weeks of not rebooting its starting to cause issues.

Goal: I' am trying to write a script or a task that will run that would log off users who have been inactive for 2-3 days. I do not want this to affect the others users who are already logged on the the PC.

  • Alex,

This really doesn't fit the purpose of this forum (which is IT Manager topics), but I"m going to leave it here for a few days in case anyone has a solution for you.  After that, I'll move the thread to a forum more specific to Windows Vista.
