Nfs server services installation error : Installation of one or more roles, role services, or features failed. Error: 0x800f0922 RRS feed

  • Hi Team,

    I am facing an issue while installing the NFS service in server 2012 R2 server.

    I tried to install in gui and got an error as 

    Installation of one or more roles, role services, or features failed. Error: 0x800f0922

    and

    i tried the installation with Powershell. I tried the following commands.

    PS C:\Windows\system32> Import-Module ServerManager

    PS C:\Windows\system32> Add-WindowsFeature 'FS-NFS-Services'

    and the installation was started at 91% it thrown an error as follows.

    Add-WindowsFeature : The request to add or remove features on the specified server failed.
    Installation of one or more roles, role services, or features failed. Error: 0x800f0922
    At line:1 char:1

    Please help me to resolve the issue.

    Thanks for your reply.

    I have found the issue and it was I am using arcserve backup for taking server backups and the same was blocking the port 0.0.0.0:111.

    I killed the particular process which were used this 111 port and post that I installed the NFS server service.

    I found related information about the error code, but not applying to NFS.

    Are there any other applications installed on the server?

    I suppose you could use process monitor to analyze the issue.

    It could monitor the real-time file system, Registry and process/thread activity. When you install NFS, check process monitor to see what is preventing the installation.
