Issue Migrating 2007 Farm to 2010 RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have a highly customized SSL 2007 Site that I am trying to migrate to 2010. I have backed up the content db and attached to 2010 db server. Ran the attach content db command. When I go to the webapp that I set up it is not finding the site. I am getting a 404 error. The migration log is showing multiple errors for the custom features and site definitions. Any thoughts on how to migrate the customizations to 2010. The customizations were done by a third party.

  • Can you be more specific on what the customisations are?

  • a Backup of ProD Server Farm Image
b Backup of  Sharepont all databases
c Backup of  User profie / IIS / Application pool
d list of all services account / sql account / server name / ip address
e I disconnected the App Server/WFE from the existing farm by running the configuration wizard.

f Using SharePoint farm configuration wizard I provisioned a new farm and service applications.

g I created a new web application and removed the content database created for this web app.

h Then run the stsadm command to Add the Production Content database to the new web application.

i check and add one bye one db .

j check  stsadm command for rename  and connected to QA.
