Migration SCCM 2012 SP1 -> SCCM 2012 SP1: is it possible to keep the folders structure ?

Question
-
Hi,
I want to transfer the SCCM 2012 SP1 data from one SCCM hierarchy to another using the migration feature and i have a question regarding folders.
In the source hierarchy i have folders with device collections and also in the software library. Is it possible to keep also the folders strucure from the source hierarchy during the migration ?
Regards

Folder structures are retained during the migration process. CM 07 sub-collections are not supported in CM12 and are replaced by folders in the migration.

EDit: Sorry, just noticed that you were talking about migrating 2012 to 2102. Yes, folder structure is migrated.

Why don't you just do a SQL backup and restore from the DB backup?Tuesday, August 27, 2013 4:16 PM

Does it work with the SQL backup ? The server names are different, the site codes are also different ?

How does it work ?
Is it necessary first to migrate folders and then the objects ?
Or during the object migration the folder (and also the folder structure) will be retained ?

Have a look at the blog post I suggested. It tells you how to do it and has screenshots. You don't need to do the folders first. You select the folders and objects you need during the migration.

Thanks Gerry !
Another question:
i would like to use
Export-CMApplication and Import-CMApplication in PowerShell scripts for exporting/ importing application between 2 SCCM 2012 SP1 environments. How can i achieve that i get the application in the same folder as in the source environment.
Thanks in advance
