storage space RRS feed

  • Hi,

Under Management - disks - ADD will launch a wizard showing available disks that can be added to the DPM Storage pool.  Disk(s) should be initialized in Windows disk management and show all free space. If there are any existing volumes, those will be excluded from available space for DPM to use.

Any non-removable block level devices are supported for storage pool disks, so basically any non-removable physical disks you can see in Windows disk management (excluding the disk that has the o.s. installed).  These can be local DASD (Scsi, SAS, SATA), or Fiber attached SAN LUN, or iSCSI attached disk.

NAS (network attached storage) devices that emulate a SMB accessible volume will not work as DPM Storage pool.

Windows 2012 Storage spaces are also not supported for DPM storage pool usage.
