Current XP Copyright / Licensing status RRS feed

  • Question

  • Someone "in the business" recently told me that now that XP is EOL'd, the licensing procedures are no longer enforced.  In other words, that one can now install the same copy of XP on multiple clients using the same product key on each.

Is this correct?  Seems a bit odd to me...

  • So, just out of curiosity, let's say you have a bunch of clients which are not able to run Vista (any version) due to hardware limitations and yet you can no longer buy XP licenses/keys.

Do you have to throw the hardware in the trash?
