Lync Stress Tool crashed/throws exception. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I am trying to run Lync Stress tool in VPN environment -  means the clients simulated by the tool should have atleast 2 IPs, one the public and another private. For that to happen, we have connected the server running the tool in public network, and then created a VPN tunnel to connect to private/enterprise network. However, once tool is started it throws exception-  System.OverflowException’ within few mins.

Pl. let me know the issue.

    ~Thanks

  • Hi Abhijit,

When you run the Lync stress tool in VPN,you do not change the network environment, please try to use it in the same network ,if this tool still crash, please check the following things.

Before running LyncPerfTool directly, you must register the performance counters. Enter the following command to register performance counters:

    regsvr32 /i /n /s LyncPerfToolPerf.dll

Firstlyplease run the Lync Stress Tool as an administrator. And not set the file to Driver C:,please set it to other Drivers.

please check the Client Hardware Requirements

To run the Lync Server 2013 Stress and Performance Tool on your Lync Server 2013 deployment, for every 4,500 users whose load you want to simulate, You need at least one dedicated computer that meets the following minimum hardware requirements:

    1 gigabit network adapter

    8-GB ram

2 dual-core central processing units (CPUs)

    Client Software Requirements

    Lync server must running

    • Windows Server 2012 operating system
    • Windows Server 2008 operating system (64-bit edition)

    Client computer must running

    • You must have the Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 runtime installed.
    • On Windows Server 2008/Windows Server 2012, the Desktop Experience feature must be enabled.
    • You must have the Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 redistributable package (x64) installed. You can download Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Redistributable Package (x64) from the Microsoft Download Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=143216.
    • A fully configured Lync Server 2013 deployment.
