Downgrade Windows 8 to Windows 7

-
Hi, I have successfully install Windows 8 on a new PC, but I would like to downgrade to Windows 7 in order to have the same environment to my professional desktop. The reason why I ask this question in this forum is because I yet called Microsoft support to ask for a key, and they said that they can't give me a key (they no longer give key from a valid Windows 8 product Id, but they did for a while), but they also said that I should ask to Microsoft forum because I am an IT professional developer and I may receive some special help here !
Here is my situation : I bought Windows 8 in January in order to migrate from Windows XP, but my PC was too old, now I have a new PC, Windows 8 and it's valid Product ID, and I think I perhaps have right to downgrade to Windows 7.
Thanks for help.

I don't think retail editions have the rights for downgrade, if your PC is OEM the OEM may be able to provide you with a recovery disk for downgrade, if you purchase a Volume license you get downgrade rights and keys for each OS.
