How to disable dynamic auto scrolling in tree views? RRS feed

  • Here's an animated demonstration:

    The chaotic scrolling of the pane is unbelievably irritating for me, does anyone have an idea how to disable it? Be it anything from registry modification to hooking Windows API.

  • I think this is not possible. May I ask why you want this to be changed? I like this. No scrollbars like in XP.

  • Have you tried ClassicShell?

    I don't know if it has an option to disable it. But you can try it out.

  • Thanks for the answer, but unfortunately it doesn't have an option to disable auto-scrolling..

    Any other ideas?

  • nope, it scrolls somewhat less, but it's not gone completely

    besides, I need it to work system-wide, not just in the windows explorer navigation pane
