I am afraid that if you rename the parent folder, the folder will change to an unshared state. So other member cannot access to it. However, if you rename the share name, the folder
will still remain shared.
In addition,
I recommend you create a test shared folder
and rename it to simulate the situation.
You can
compare the results
before and after you rename the parent folder by entering “net share” in the command prompt. Then you
can fully evaluate the impact
and find whether the folder is shared.
